TERRIBLE Hangxiety

I’m 12 hours from BAL 0.00. But my hangxiety is so terrible. I took L-glutamine, taurine, SAMe. But still like my heart is beating out of my chest

I know it sounds trite, but breathing deeply really helps with the racing, pounding heart. It may sound contradictory but every day sober will lessen the feeling of crushing hangxiety. When I got sober (2004), I was suffering with anxiety and panic attacks, and with each day they began to wane. Additionally DON’T DRINK & GO TO MEETINGS!

I remember this. Follow the advice from E. You'll get through it. Drink water, go on a walk and breath deep.

My anxiety was terrible during WDs. I would wake up in a complete panic, and the anxiety wouldn’t subside for hours afterwards, and would seemingly randomly come back. I can tell you mine lasted the first 15 days or so and then subsided significantly. Hang in there, try mindful breathing, meditation apps, talking to someone you know and trust. It will get better. Wishing you the best.

My experience is that it sucks to get through an anxious spell but whenever I get through an unpleasant feeling and don’t pick up, I feel stronger on the other side of it.

Stop messing with your body chemistry. Eat well, stay hydrated and sober and get a baseline. Like Eileen said, BREATHE. Don't trip on what you can't change. Pause. Make strong moves, sometimes the move is to NOT move.

I am myself take two pills for anxiety prescribed by a doctor every day I can get anxiety without something even triggering it part of that is because I’m a cancer survivor and the chemotherapy did a lot of damage but maybe you have to try to focus on what’s causing the anxiety and deal with that whatever that is
