Thank you LOOSID peeps, AA in general and my homegroup CTC!

It wasn't until I stopped looking for SOMEONE ELSE to accept me for who I am, and started accepting MYSELF for who I am, that I actually didn't feel so lonely and unhappy in this world. - Kevin W.

In four day's it will be three years since I have taken a drink of alcohol. That sh*t took a lot of life away from me, but it also taught me some things I don't think I could have learned any other way. I guess I learn life's lessons the hard way. I am so grateful to be alive today cause many of my friends, family, and AA brother's & sister's are not!

P.S. Thank you Brittany

Kevin, your posts are refreshing. I agree with you. Drinking stole a third of my life after it rendered me powerless. 82 days here and committed

What has worked for you

Congratulations on your 82 days, that is great. I had to do the work, that is what worked for me. What I mean is, I needed to get honest with myself and also be held accountable for the problems that I had created. I had to attend a lot of AA meetings, I had to work with a sponsor to help guide me through the 12 steps and traditions of AA. I also needed to help others who are also struggling in order to continue to help my own recovery maintenance.
