How to leave AA with grace?
Ahhh, you mean leave AA and start NA or a different recovery program? Good luck on your journey.
People will have accuses. What means more life or death. I go to meetings for me .do I all ways want to be sick.I need to be determine to get better for my self.witch makes everything better.
Thanks. I believe the same about the people there, but holding onto 1930s theory of mental health issues appears to hurt many members and is feeling inauthentic. Thanking my sponsor is definitely in the plans.
Agreed, I didn't think AA would work so I started several treatment programs when I got sober. All programs taught me things, but when 95% of the big book you cannot get behind, it feels like time to focus on programs that make more sense. Even other 12 step programs have evolved in ways AA has not. You cannot treat a 20s girl with 1930s psychology. I have made peace with the harm they do, but I don't want to be a party to it anymore.
My sponsor told me to never get in the way of someone else’s bottom.
Hi David, I don't understand your statements, but am interested in your thoughts and thank you for responding. Excuses to get on with real life abound, but I am worried about the people who think I will die by not coming to meetings. I will die if I drink, for me, they are not related.
Genius! I will proceed with ghosting where applicable.
I think he/she will be fine with that. You’re not dating. Are you?
Generally speaking, when you find fault in programs that work for millions upon millions of people you usually aren’t looking at your own faults I believe. I think anything that works for someone to stay sober is great. Would never put them or their program down if it works. To each their own if it works to stay sober. That’s all that matters.
I agree whole heartedly that it works for many people. However, I prefer working with trained professionals over bible thumpers. This is why I don't want to discourage anybody else by leaving.
Ahhhh, you think AA is a bunch of Bible trumpets? Lol

It is where I live, but moving out of the land of Trump is not realistic right now.
