Today i am so truly thankful and greatful that God has created the ability for me to give back to my patents in such a way that i am.
Because of my sobriety God gave me the strength to step up and be my dad's caregiver in my patents home while he was in hospice. He asked my sister for the longest time to please bring him home where he wanted to die. So i did. I was able to be present for not only by dad when he took his last breath but for my mom as well to hold her up.
Now my mom had Alzheimer's and Dementia and wants nothing more than to be in her home that her and my dad built 29 years ago when she takes her last breath as well.
Thank you God for being so amazing and powerful to help me through these difficult times.

God gives you the strength to care for others, but the ability to make a decision on what you put in your own body. Abstinence from addiction creates a new life that allows us to love again, comfort, and be there for the ones that we possibly, so sorely disappointed during the time that we struggled. Addiction is the hand that holds us down, now hold the hand of the person that you love as they transition peacefully with you by their side completely free of any the encumbrances that dependent demands.
