The last few years the idea of being asked by God, “what did you do with the gifts that I gave you?” has been at the forefront of my mind.
In a word: ‘Legacy’.
Looking back at lost opportunities, which never will return can lead us to resentment (of ourselves or others).
Unless we choose to embrace the past as the absolutely necessity in becoming who we are today,
Wiser,
Stronger,
More compassionate,
we are doomed to repeat and relive the past as we attempt to change those moments long gone.
The uncertainty of a future can bring about anxiety in the unknown, yet we can find comfort in knowing the answer to the question above as, “the best that I could do.”
And knowing that that is enough.
That you are “enough”, exactly how you are.
Yes, we still strive for excellence but we cannot allow the impossibility of perfection to rob us of today.
For we cannot sit with ghosts without ourselves become haunted. We have the opportunity in the now to become the authors of tomorrow.
