The basic text

“Our very lives, as ex-problem-drinkers, depend upon our constant thought of others and how we may help meet their needs.”

This statement speaks loud to me. When I’m focused solely on myself my life becomes unmanageable. When I’m in the thought of how I can help others or who can I text or call to see where they are at in their sobriety or day I’ve removed the bondage of self. This is the simple program of Alcoholics Anonymous once we have started out steps towards a free life from selfish acts.
For those we still struggle with the 12 steps or if you’re working hard on them just know that you’re loved by all of the members of AA. Reaching out to a fellow friend of AA today and everyday should and must be part of your program to stay sober. A 30 second phone call is all it takes to light that spark in another human.
