The Buddhist guru says “Anger is like drinking the poison yourself and expecting the other person to die.” The doctor of psychiatry says “You say you’re angry at everyone else, but all I see is you turning your anger inwards, and anger turned inwards is really depression.” The general consensus seemed to be that I was only hurting myself with my ridiculous war on everyone and everything, but I’m stubborn and wouldn’t give up the fight. What eventually happened is I finally punched myself out…I got old, I got tired enough to tap out. And that’s the best thing I ever did.
