The Chinese word for crisis is written with two characters

The Chinese word for crisis is written with two characters. The first stands for danger, and the second for opportunity. I will look for the good hidden within everything I encounter. “There is no such thing as a problem without a gift for you in its hands.”

It was out of my reading for today. Reminds me that every time I’ve had a “crisis,” I’ve either been brought closer to that person for a stronger, healthier relationship, or it’s unveiled another lesson I need to work on.

31 years ago my brother went through the most traumatic breakup of his life. He was in the tank emotionally for months. The next year he met a woman with whom he celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary yesterday. He’s fathered three brilliant, independent daughters with a woman he’d never have met if not for the “horrible” breakup.

True! The more I stick to the program, the better prepared I feel to handle any crisis!

Love this share!!! Reminds me how everything is always changing, and we rarely know what the outcome will be.
Reminds me of the famous parable of the farmer:

I love how many Chinese kanji are symbols of other concepts put together. I believe it describes the situation more clearly. Funny side note the Kanji for doctor is a man in a box...

Same experience with narcissistic and gossipy women that I thought were my friends (until their ugly side came out). They thought they were excluding me, using me, gossiping about me without my knowledge, controlling what I knew and where I could go with them. I took my power back and turned it into an opportunity to gather the other excluded “nice” women from the group and branch off from the toxicity. Lemons to lemonade….when one door shuts, another one opens. I tell my kids these phrases all the time (and use my situations as examples).
I’m catching onto these little games narcissists play, using their supply and moving on.

Amen sis - I’m doing a thorough review of my friendships for a different set of reasons, but we all seem to gravitate to what’s easy instead of what’s truly gratifying in the world of relationships
