The Courage to Move Ahead

Another day of Sobriety, just coping and blessed to be alive. I live with Major Depression and I’m a recovering alcoholic and addict. Every second of life is a fight all I can do is move forward with my life. Currently in a AA meeting just take it 1 day at a time.

Just one foot in front of the other. I self medicated my depression and anxiety. For me things did not automatically get better. It takes time. I am still on my journey, 19 month, every once in a while things will happen and I’ll realize that I am in a way better place then I was, even if it’s not how I planned for things to go. Stay strong and keep your head held high. Don’t forget to lean on that AA family, they are the best support.

One minute at a time. The mental strength it takes to push thru our mental health struggles is worth so much praise.

Actually calling my sponsor and allowing myself to get totally vulnerable and be ridiculous about my perception of myself while bawling was beyond life saving. I may not have any urge or desire to pick up, but my mental health is a constant struggle.

Thank you for sharing your win. It helped me.
