The First Week Feels Strange

The first week sober can mess with you.

You’re used to reaching for something when you’re stressed, bored, or just done with the day, now it’s all just… you.

That’s the hard part at first. You notice how often you think about drinking, and it feels like it’s never going to stop, but it does slow down. The gaps between those thoughts get bigger.

The truth is, ever hour you stay sober right now is training your brain for the next hour.
