The G word

First. Good morning!
Then, I see a lot of posts on AA and the God word.

A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety

The G word is something I've struggled with. HP works better for me personally and no one in our groups should push upon us a specific understanding of g. It is how WE and I personally connect my HP
OF MY and your UNDERSTANDING.

And it's fun to explore other forms of recovery too. Whatever keeps your brain working and taking action.

I know several people who use the rooms/meetings as their higher power. I personally believe in God, but to each their own. All I know is that the AA promises are true for me. I have found that " God has done for me what I couldn't do for myself" on several occasions.

I don't struggle with it at all. I disregard it. God is not a thing to me and I don't use terminology like higher power to pacify the feelings of the "faithful". Their thing, their problem. The group in AA for me is a tool in a tool box. I use the right tool for the job. That's it. Easy. All the accountability, for better or worse is mine. I'm not concerned with what's higher than me or whatever. Too abstract. Keep it simple.

I'm comfortable with this.
