The hardest part is filling the time you spent drinking with other activities. Cooking is cool, lots of different recipes out there to try. It's all in the prep. Find a new hobby, it really helps on those impossible days. Yall know the ones I'm talking about.
I second that
What strange hobby did you pick up?
I haven’t really started a new one. I am getting back into walking. Right now I am just focusing on not drinking, doing required stuff and going to bed early. I am getting back into bread baking.
Man, the first year is strange. Learning how to go about the seasons sober can be a little intimidating but it's also kind of exciting at the same time.
Plus, sourdough bread is the shizz
Yeah. We finally are present.
I do sourdough but I also do pizza, yeast breads and even made a pie from scratch last weekend. Need to do some more outdoor stuff but is has been hot as hell in north fl
I will do that. My wife and I just bought a tear drop camper. Can’t wait til fall. We have camped for years. It will be different camping sober
Right on man, enjoy the sober life, it's pretty effin sweet
78 days today. I am enjoying waking up refreshed. I am doing mostly online AA meetings. It has been good. Glad to hear you are stoked about sober life.
Took a while to have an outlook like that, but I look back at all that I've accomplished while not spending all of my time and money on beer and it blows me away. 78 days is incredible, keep going, it's always fun to rediscover the things you love, sober.
Yeah. Wish I had all that money. Oh well as they say focus on today. I am about to check out Netflix. Nice chatting. Enjoy the evening
Take care, good chatting. Check out The Last Kingdom, hoot period drama during the viking age
I love how you both just ignored that scam profile.
. Congratulations on 78 days
I do keep pretty busy but I also read. A lot. Sober Lit can be inspiring. Russell Brand is a good read. Biographical but also very informative in an unpretentious format.
My Fair Junkie by Amy Dresner is a great read. I loved her story because it wasn’t all neat and tidy with a happy ending. It was real. Messy. Chaotic. And not linear, just like my descent into despair. That book makes me go to meetings when I don’t want to. It makes me do the service work alone even when 4 other people signed up with me but bailed. It makes me own my program. Sobriety isn’t some neat little thing you keep in a box on a shelf in the closet, that you dust off from time to time to show your nana.
It's all in the formatting and spelling, fakes are easy to spot. SIXXAM helped me through some rough times, good tunes
I will check out that book. I need all the motivation I can get. Thanks for the suggestion.
Nick! Hello and good morning!
I got back into hiking and backpacking.
New strange hobbies I started is helping others on Loosid. Volunteering at the food bank.
Reading books.
Thank you for sharing this.
That's cool man, happy for you. I quit tobacc 3 weeks ago. One thing at a time for me. The more days that pass allow me another day to reflect and remember the things I did when I was drunk. Helps keep me moving in a forward direction.
