The “Honeymoon” is over

When a relationship is new and fresh, we call it the honeymoon stage where you’re so obsessed with your new partner. You’re excited to see them, to be around them, etc. etc. Once the dust settles, you still appreciate your person but all that excitement slowly fades.

That’s how I’m feeling with my sobriety. The anticipation of wanting to make it a full month gave me this rush! And now everyday since as my sober streak increases it just feels like another day.

Hear me out, I have no desire to want to drink but I’ve also lost that rush of being excited to hit new milestones. Anyone else had this feeling?

I need a good woman

Without a doubt we all go thru that but you will find something else to be excited about you just have to find it or better yet it’ll find you.

I can relate to that for sure... when I was in treatment back in the day, they called it the "pink cloud" when you first get sober. Eventually, it evaporates, wears off, whatever, but it's inevitable. It's important for me to get back to or find new things to be excited about. I'm getting back into exercise, reading, and cooking right now
