The little things

I work retail and work six days during the summer. It’s exhausting, but it’s the little things that get me through.

My second to last customer today noticed my tattoo with my anniversary date. “Almost a year sober? Congratulations.” It’s an older woman, and she’s just smiling that knowing and infectious smile. It’s all I can do to say thank you and not cry. I’m incredibly grateful to have made it this far. I’m lucky to be alive.

It’s a great way to end the day and start my day off tomorrow. I usually spend the day at a couple of meetings and then go back, refreshed. :green_heart:
