The longer I stay sober the more I see this. I’ve finally decided that it’s not that people don’t trust that you’ve changed, it’s that they do t like that they can’t predict you anymore.

It’s 7:41AM. My best friend Mark calls me. He and his wife are expecting and are always fighting. Before he heads to work he wants to have a drink, our drink of choice would have been a Mikes hard lemonade, or two. Well, I let him know I was in a zoom meeting. He got upset and apologized for interrupting and hung up. He didn’t know I was in an AA zoom meeting.
Does he know you’re doing AA at all?
Mine was used to the tug-o-war. I decided to drop the rope and not play, focusing on my sobriety. Apparently that infuriates people who rely on the drama. Back to the disease they went. Your quote is accurate. Thank you for posting.

Yes. He doesn’t judge me but he still tries to get me to drink. He’s the “I won’t tell” type.
