The “meetings” don’t fix you. The healthy tools learned from the meetings it what does it. I try to pray for discernment but dammit

You’ll find your own way

Praying to fix problems isn't healthy either. It's still shifting responsibility. To me, meetings are putting in work, at first it was work to just go,as I don't like big groups of people when I'm sober. Now the work is being helpful at meetings, shaking hands, etc etc. It's a process for sure.

Prayer works for me appreciating my hire power.

Well good then! Whatever works for you is awesome.

Well said. We need healthy tools. I've been handed some bad tools in my lifetime and discernment was needed to see the bad and the good.

In rebuttal to prayer not being healthy, the national institute for mental health disagrees. Multiple neurological studies show the benefits of prayer. Prayer helps level mood, relieve stress, and helps organize thoughts.
Also multiple studies show that due to the neurological benefits, people who pray tend to heal from sickness and injury quicker.

I didn’t know that! Thank you.

Meditation and prayer are different. You're bundling them together to push the "power of prayer". Meditation is the organization of thoughts, etc. Prayer is the part where you're asking an omnipresent being of your choosing to direct your life in a way that's favorable. Those are two totally different things. I certainly hope you're not implying that the mechanism behind people who pray getting better in the hospital is directly related to sky god looking out for them, that would be ridiculous, whereas maybe prayer being a positive thing, and keeping positive tends to help the body heal(in some instances) or maybe it doesn't. Maybe the outcome was going to be whatever it was going to be.

Actually I am citing research on prayer not meditation.

I've do e the research. Have you?

So, you think god, whichever one people pray to, or your god, or whatever, actually helps to heal you, over the guy in the bed next to you, who isn't praying? So perhaps on May 24th when 21 people, many innocent children, were killed, your god was busy helping people who were praying to get better? What about the ones who probably were praying there at the shooting? That's the god you are repping? That's nuts man.

You can't make this stuff up. Oh wait, yes you can. Someone already did.

Also, those articles you post all the time don't prove anything.

And a recent study published out out Stanford University on 3-11-20 concluded AA is the most effective path to alcohol abstinence, due primarily to its fellowship communities.

Did you read them?

God didn’t do that a person did. The key to staying sober FOR ME is definitely having God in my life. Not your thing Got it.

Steve: lol

Yeah I read them the time before the time before the time before you posted them.

"god didn't do it a person did". Total cop out. We must have accountability but your God has no accountability. Seems fishy to me.

Regardless, if it's working for you, and it's not hurting anyone else, that's great. Stay sober, be well.

So...scientific proof doesn't mean anything? Oh ok. Sounds like you aren't atheist to me, since every atheist I know is more interested in scientific proof than they are in trolling people who say prayer, or God, or anything else religious.
