The nice part of getting sober?

You know what is one really nice part about getting/being sober? Our goals and resolutions don’t have to start on the first of the following year and then disappear about 3 weeks in.

Instead of asking everyone what their goals are, what is the top thing(s) you are going to DEprioritize in 2023?

Hmmmm , I’m going to deprioritize being so self centered.

It won’t be easy but I want to deprioritize worrying about everything.

Absolutely with you here.

Interesting outlook...
Not sure if I want to necessarily deprioritize anything I prioritize, but possibly stressing bills?

Seems almost impossible for us. When I'm in my head I try to see who else I can help to get out of it.

I have been meditating and when thoughts arise I just label them, like worry, anxiety, etc. and let them go. Takes a lot of labeling sometimes.:hot_face::hot_face:

I like to use this breathing technique called 4,7,8. Breath in for 4 seconds, hold it for 7, release for 8. Rinse and repeat. The focusing on the numbers alone will get your mind off of whatever it is on. The breathing itself is scientifically proven to relax the individual. After I do that for a while if I'm really getting creative I do different visualization. Wim Hoff breathing technique is even better but more intense. Not trying to talk about myself here just relaying what I have learned. :sunglasses:
