The number one thing I miss about alcohol and marijuana

The number one thing I miss about alcohol and marijuana (and other drugs) is the good times with my friends, the wholesome times. I miss the times we would have drunkenly singing songs or going to the lake on the most perfect summer day while intoxicated on psychedelics. Although I miss this stuff, I know that sobriety is best for me. Out of most of the people I currently know or used to be aquatinted with I'm the only one that has admitted openly that they have a problem. My problem with abusing myself with these very substances is not going to go away. The only thing I can do is abstain from it. I have to stay sober or else I'll become the person who my friends would never want to be around. I'd slowly, but surely become the junkie who begs for 10 dollars just to get a six pack of bougie IPA. For anyone who is going through what I'm going through and you are doing the right thing, continue to be honest with yourself and thank yourself every single day.

Hey Tyler! I know exactly how you feel! I sometimes romanticize my addiction. I think about the good times and miss it. Without a daily program, I believe I would actually start to believe that I could enjoy it again. My daily program keeps me sane. It allowed me to pause and think it all the way through. That drink/drug/woman is not just that good time I’m thinking about. I know that for me I always want MORE. I can’t get enough! That good time I’m thinking about comes with all the problems I had before. It comes with me isolating from my family. It comes with a life of loneliness and hopelessness. I was so freaking insane! I was willing to throw my entire life away for it. Stay the coarse my man. It’s all a lie. That thinking that of the good times is our sick minds. For me, I need a daily program of recovery to keep me sane. Stay well my friend

Those times and feeling will go a way with time.keep it up.:dromedary_camel:
