The price of a life…

I want to talk about you “worth”…

Why does a dollar bill have more value than a quarter? Because we all agree that it does.

In order for us to have value, there must be a “product”.
To be clear, I am not talking about codependency here. I’m referring to working out the details of our lives, conducting ourselves in a way such that it’s sum is positive. A “greater good”. That, for me has been a key to sobriety.

I cannot force my worth onto others. It must be acknowledged, first by self and then (hopefully) by others. We are, after all relational creatures built for connection. However, it may not be reciprocated.
After all, expectations are the birthplace of resentments. Resentments giving birth to relapse.

No, we must work to find work worth doing for our own sense of worth.
My worth is not determined by the opinions of others but rather by the content of our character.

You were born with gifts. Perhaps these have been kept safely locked in the closet of your soul…it may be time to unlock that potential, dust it off and in doing so, your sense of self worth.

If we desire high esteem, we must do esteem-able acts.

Love boldly & be well.
