As I’m sitting here watching football, I realized there was a time a sober Sunday during football season was impossible for me. A sober Tuesday was often impossible for me. I often share silly things, or little glimpses of my life, or things that I hope offer some wisdom or inspiration. Addiction is with me daily, but I have moved from staying sober to being sober, to truly living, and I hope if you are struggling today this offers some hope that you can get there too, one day at a time.
Love your description of going from "staying sober to being sober to truly living". I feel I fluctuate through all three of these depending on the day/hour
but lately I've been doing more of the truly living and I am so thankful that recovery has given me that gift
Very nice post…and a big “W” for da Bears
You truly are an inspiration to us all. Thank you for your wisdom and shares on here. Being sober is the best life ever. Nothing cooler.
Thank you so much. Always here
Yes!!! You remembered, thank you.
Thank you so much my dear friend
I don’t think you told me who your team is though?
Do you remember the team that beat the undefeated (at the time) Bears in 1985 on Monday Night Football? It was the only loss of the season for the Bears as they went on to win the Super Bowl.
He’s a
fan. Well you had a great day yesterday too. Was a time you guys could not beat the Pats. That’s at least twice now right?
After Dan Marino’s retirement, the Dolphins have mimicked my addiction…progressively gotten worse lol. Hoping the Dolphins can now mimic my recovery…
Football is much like life…it’s a game of inches
So true!!! I say all the time I don’t know what is harder, being Catholic or a Bears fan
