Have you had arguments in your head with people that aren't even in the room. I have.
Ever felt alone in a room filled with people that love you? I have.
Have you felt like everybody else seems to have the answers to a good life but you? I have.
Ever felt like your insides just don't feel like everyone else's outsides looks? I have.
Ever wanted to stop destroying your life and the lives of everyone close to you, but for some reason, even though you swore you wouldn't and meant it, you seem to pick up and do it again?
I never once woke up in the morning and said today is a day I'm going to neglect my kids, or make my parents cry, or go to jail - but I did it anyway. Not because I'm a bad person, but because I was sick.
Addiction is not a choice - it's a disease. It's a genetic predisposition - research it through the American Medical Association if you doubt me. Its just like the disease of cancer or diabetes. But unfortunately our disease kills more people each year than cancer and aids combined.
I'm grateful to know who and what I am today.
That's not the life I live anymore thanks to good sponsorship and a simple program of action.
