So I had been trying to go fishing for the past week & it wasn’t happening because it was either hot as heck here in AZ or the rain was coming down (monsoon season) so I decided to go around 5am this morning & a few different things happened. First this guy came to see what I was fishing with lol & we struck up a conversation. He told me he was from NM & was in a few programs here but he relapsed. I asked if he’s didn’t mind me asking from what? He said Alcohol. I told him I was now 11 days into being booze free myself & it wasn’t the first time. I told him for me I was just sick of it & how much it’s taken from my life. I told him it was up to him if he wanted to get help there’s help out there. Then like 4hrs later there was this huge group…over 200 ppl easy. I heard them on their sound system & they were taking about recovery & some were telling their stories. They were on the other side of the lake & walked the whole thing as a group. I asked one of them who they were? (I’ve never worked a program before) and it was sooo awesome because they were a bunch of different groups and it was called ARIZONA Recovery & AZ Sober Squad. So I’m definitely going to be looking into it soon because I think I’ll stay sober this time around if I do. God doesn’t let things happen on accident & he puts people in our paths for reasons.
