The stigma that you should be ashamed of addiction, prevents millions of addicts from seeking rehab.
I was one of those people. In active addiction you isolate yourself from family and friends, to “try “ to keep your “secret” under wraps, but the people who truly know you will always recognize the signs of your addiction. You also destroy many relationships with the people you care for, but it’s also important that they and you understand that that is not the true you. It’s the addiction rearing its ugly head. Addiction is always silent, but sobriety can and always be loud and proud, at least for me!
