Addiction is lonely, we are just too selfish at that point to realize just how alone we are.

You are not alone, you have to remember how much darker it was when we are using? I know when I'm isolating I have do what the AA or NA programs have taught me: pray, meetings, helping others? It's ok to be by yourself but you are not alone!

Meetings help me and frinding a supportive network of people.

Great advice, you don’t have to be alone in sobriety. At meetings you can find people who can relate to how you feel. And have great fellowship and find someone who cares.

I definitely feel this Jeff J

Jeff you might feel lonely but you don't have to, reach out to the fellowship in your area, especially the men.I do understand that feeling myself.

Yes, life is lonely. I lost all my friends since I quit drinking. I spend almost every moment of my life alone. People say “go out, do hobbies, meet people” but do not realize how hard that is for most of us.

I’ve become very nihilistic in my loneliness. Taking to reading Russian philosophers. They knew loneliness!

It's lonely if you make it. Join a sober group, go to NA or AA, go to church or whatever religion you decide to belive in. Get yourself out there and meet new sober people. We are social creatures. Stay blessed

As I’m shifting my life to a more sober steady life I too feel somewhat lonely or isolated. I yearn for genuine connections that don’t involve the regular dinner and drinks. I found an amazing church this Sunday and I felt like they were my family. They invited me to get baptized and I’m going to serve the church and help. This is my way of building a supportive community with one thing in common the love of god and positivity. God bless you and you got this !

It sure can be but doesn’t have to be. I’m finally getting into going to meetings and I’m meeting people who can relate to my addiction and understands it.
