They say I can’t because I’m an alcoholic

We as recovering alcoholics can do whatever anyone else can with solid recovery and spiritual fitness. I’d say that I’m first cheering you on to get solidly sober, then I believe you can do anything beyond your wildest dreams!! I was an Emt firefighter for ten years. It’s a tough and extremely gratifying job. Your worth making your dreams come true

You go on and do you! I love your attitude and determination, don't let your boyfriend, parents or anyone else tell you different! If your boyfriend, parents love you they should support you

You sure as heck can, I was told I'd never stop going to jail and prison or do anything with myself because of my addiction and I got my water treatment degree and license, WHILE in prison, and got out and climbed the ladder. I am now the highest ranking operator in my company making 6 figures, happily married with a beautiful little girl, brand spanking new Pulte home in Fort Lauderdale FL and a brand new Tesla. Use that fire and never give up but remember, that disease is doing push-ups when we are sober just waiting to kick our behind. I've relapsed after four years twice and each time it was worse and worse. I only relapsed because I stop staying in fellowship with other addicts and alcoholics and never really went to meetings, and bottles things up, never letting even the smallest thing out to someone. Now with meetings, finishing the steps, church, family and therapy I can't go wrong. Just have to stay on the beam!!!! :call_me_hand:t3::muscle:t3:

Hey I want to see you move forward in your life and be all that you can be. There's a lot more to sobriety than just hanging around the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous and sharing our experience strength and Hope. Just be careful that studying the EMT manual doesn't become your alternate program of recovery.

Remember that drinking was only a symptom of our problem. We have to get down to causes and conditions if we want to truly recover. There's a book that was written by alcoholics for alcoholics and it works most every time if we give it a chance. It's called The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Just my experience.

First things first.

Good. You don't need their naysayer bullsh*t

Use it Jessica!! Prove them wrong one day at a time!! Your enthusiasm is contagious!! Sobriety delivers those things that alcohol promises!! You can do it!!!!

It's always good to have a goal to work for while staying sober. Congratulations on making your decision now keep your head up and focus on that goal. You got this and it feels great to prove people wrong.

Just don't harbor resentment over it, and do it because it's what YOU want.. YOU get to do this, not them.

Get you some, girl!

YOU CAN do this!

You Grow Girl!!!!

You got this! And you can do whatever you put your mind to!! That was a very ugly thing to say to somebody!! You can do it! Keep going!!:muscle:t4::heart::clap:
