Things I’ve learned in 164 days of sobriety. Addiction/Alcoholism is not

Things I’ve learned in 164 days of sobriety.

Addiction/Alcoholism is not racist, it’s not ageist, it doesn’t care if you are gay or straight, male or female, it doesn’t matter how much money you have or how broke you are, it does care how good looking you are or if you’re overweight. This disease we all are fighting can and will attack/affect people in every walk of life. I am grateful for the complete strangers giving support not just to me but everyone who is going through it. Keep paying it forwards y’all. I just wanted to say I appreciate this room full of addicts and alcoholics , you all have helped change my life for the better and keep me wanting to keep grow as a person in this journey I’m on!!

Becoming an alcoholic humbled me big time. I used to be cocky and slightly arrogant. When I walked though the doors of rehab it changed me forever. There were all walks of life in there ranging from a lawyer to a former inmate. Addiction really doesn’t care who you are.
