This is my 2nd serious attempt at getting sober. At first, I thought I could do it alone. I thought it would be easier because I wasn't drinking as much as I was before I first got sober, but I realize that wasn't the case at all. "No man is an island." I felt lonely, isolated and like I wasn't making any progress in my life. Everyday felt the same and like I was just trying to get through it rather than make the most of it. Well I'm really glad I found this app and l it encouraged me to take control of my recovery. I went to my 1st meeting in 7 years yesterday. It was so inspiring to me and I'm so thankful to have that support. I never used to speak up in meetings, but I did share my story this time because I'm determine to make the most of my recovery this time. I Am already feeling the positive shift in direction that my life is taking and I'm so grateful
Very cool. You got this. Sometimes takes a few attempts for this to catch on. I’m in my third and last. It’s been very positive this time around. Letting my higher power rule this time around. Done fighting with him. Beat me up pretty bad in life to reach this point. Feel blessed you got another chance at living a good life now. Really glad you decided to go full in. Enjoy the sober ride to being happy. Only gonna keep getting better.
Thank you, I do feel blessed! That's amazing that you are able to go with the flow and night fight against it anymore. Thanks for the well wishes!
That’s awesome KK! Our recovery is what we make it, and I want to make mine the best! Make yours the best too!
That is great news KK. I totally get not wanting to go to meetings but when I finally did, it made all the difference. Your attitude sounds excellent, that’s half the battle, wanting it that much. You got this, keep going back and speaking up.
You’re awesome. The first time I got sober I shared in every meeting. A sober counselor recommended it. It really helped.
Just your name on her, KK, is a positive word to me!! So Kk, you got this!! Kk?!?
Thank you!
Thank you, I will!
Haha, thanks! I'll keep sharing.
