This is just me venting
I have 113 days sober today and I have come along way from 4 months ago. Now that I have some time under my belt I’m trying to get back on my feet and fix my finances from years of not caring and going further into debt. I’ve gotten my bills taken care of and other things as well. But now I’m struggling just to take care of the basics like food, gas in my car, etc. I know that I’ll get through this but it’s just really hard right now and a small part of me just wants to drink to just “relax” but that would only make things worse. I’m applying for jobs everywhere and doing little side jobs for friends/family but it’s still so stressful and exhausting not knowing how I’m gonna get groceries for the week or if I’ll have enough gas in my car for the next day. I’m sorry for just ranting but it’s something I’m really struggling with right now and I know you guys would understand more than anyone.

Write down what you’re grateful for
Attitude of gratitude always helps me when I’m in self pity mode…

I know how you feel. I did some really bonehead things while I was using that screwed my finances up…2 years later I cannot believe how much better of a situation I’m in financially. I wanted everything fixed ASAP once I got sober, but it does take time, in some cases several years…but knowing you’re in the right path should give you solace. Good luck on finding a better job, something that probably would have never happened had your kept drinking.
