This is my 7th day being sober. I still feel

This is my 7th day being sober. I still feel foggy and out of it. The good thing is that I am able to dream again and remember it when I wake up. The hard part is dealing with my emotions when I get mad. The first thing I think about when I get mad is that I want to do it again, get high and say forget it to my loved ones. But I take deep breaths and I stay in silence until I manage to control my cravings.

Hello
I just dropped in and saw your post. I can certainly remember when I was 7 days sober. That was almost eight years ago. I hope that you're not trying to do this by yourself. Are you going to any AA meetings? Are you staying connected with people that have long-term sobriety?

My suggestion is that you take action outside of your cell phone and outside of this app. Hang in there kiddo. It does get better. You mentioned cravings. Try taking some sweets or mixing some honey with orange juice. It helps a lot.
Yes, early sobriety can be very painful and challenging and this is all the more reason why you should not be trying to tackle this on your own. People who try to do this on their own pretty much end up going back out. I have a boatload of experience with this.

When you think about drinking, you should try playing the scene all the way forward. You might feel good for a short time but in the end it's a big fat lie that will lead you right back to where you are at that moment. And then you will have to take the time to start all over again. It's a cold vicious cycle. It's called the Insidious cycle of insanity.

We have to learn to walk through the pain.
One day at a time.
One hour at a time.
One moment at a time.

Spiritual progress not perfection. We will never get there but in the great words of Matthew McConaughey, keep on chasing what you know you can be! God is great and so are you!

Thank you so much. Your words help me. Thank you. I had this image that I had to be a perfect mom, wife, and human. I felt I couldn't rest and I needed to do what I did. Thank you

Thank you Ray. I need that!
