This is my first time posting.. I don't know where I should be posting but I need help. I'm sorry in advance. I just feel stupid and I'm losing a battle to save my marriage because I can't seem to stop drinking but I want too.

Hey Kyle. Welcome, bud. AA helped me, when I didn’t know what to do. Try to find a meeting to go to (or zoom). I added a video link below. It is a good listen. It explains the condition of alcoholism. You can diagnose yourself. Asking for help is the biggest step.

Kyle, welcome to Loosid your way to a new life. You posted just fine. I’m glad you’re here. You’re not alone. I too was right where you are 25 months ago. Well I did end up loosing my marriage but I gained new happiness and freedom from my addiction through the grace of God, Kaiser mental hospital and Alcoholics Anonymous.
My advice to you my friend is to focus on your sobriety the rest of your life will follow. When we learn about the different 12 step programs that are available to us free of charge we begin a process of healing. I don’t know your story but I can assure you our solution is the same. We drank and used to numb out our feelings. Our emotions were to much for us to bare. Our way of thinking repeatedly got us into trouble.
For me AA has saved my life, my relationships with my son, mother, father, former boss, and countless others that I’ve harmed during my addiction. I’m an real Alcoholic. I’m selfish, self centered and egotistical. I don’t like to feel emotion. Today I can feel my emotions. I can sit in them without a reaction or a response.
I’m here if you need anything ask many questions. This is your journey.

Alcoholism is a disease like cancer or diabetes. You can’t quit diseases. You need treatment. And if you stick around here you’ll find it. Tons of good help here.

Your not alone ! I'm new to sobriety also . Coming to communities like these and surrounding yourself with supportive people , avoiding triggers has helped me . You can do this !

I’m glad you are here asking. You already know. I didn’t want to go to meetings and didn’t for the first six months, I was F’n miserable. I’d stopped but didn’t change anything about my life. Now 2 years into AA my life is vastly improved. It’s about more than just the booze

Rodney, you are telling my story. I’m 2.5 years sober, ruined the marriage (although she had a problem too, I wanted to get better). And I went for 30 years starting in my teens to my late 40’s. We did it man! We F’n did it.
