This is so terribly hard to explain but what does a person do who has been an addict for 20 something years during a marriage. And finally gets sober and realize that they are no longer in love with their wife and that the only reason you stayed was that you were an addict and was not of clear mind. I just don’t know what to do now that im sober and want a loving normal life.

What you’re feeling right now is one of the most honest and painful parts of getting sober I think… you start to see your life as it actually is, not through the drink or drug.
The fact that you want a loving, real life means something in you woke up that was asleep for 20 years. Give yourself grace for being brand new at this. You don’t have to figure it all out today. I'm sending love and strength to both of you
