This just came to me…

I feel that quitting drinking is similar to training for a marathon. You start out going for it-but your not going to make it on your first try. Each time you try, you get better at it. Just like running. Imagine you just start out running and you fail at making a marathon-are you disappointed in yourself-no, because you have no experience with running (how could you ever successfully run a marathon) right? Just like quitting drinking-if you fail the 1st, 2nd or x number of tries-it is okay-you are learning how to succeed each time you do it. You shouldn’t be so hard on yourself if you can’t make it-each time will get better and better to eventually make it. This is my experience-I’ve tried it over 10+ times and each time I made it longer. This is my longest I’ve ever gone. I’m actually shocked that I’ve made it this far and also so happy. Please don’t be disappointed with yourself-your in your training mode-right?
