This time two years ago I was in my first week of rehab. I just totally started flashing back and getting all these strange feelings today. It was a time where my life wasn’t my own and I was just kind of getting taken care of like a child. And I remember feeling like a failure and afraid for the future. I’m not looking back with regret. Oh no never. But I’m just remembering those feelings I had. I don’t know if anyone else had or is having those feelings. Anyway I’ve come so far since then, but those things still come back to my memory I guess. Maybe it’s good that they do.
Keep those memories! If you’re a meeting person, go to a few beginners meetings, or even to a rehab. I say this because I forgot my own story. It cost me so much. I would never want another brother to have to learn the lesson I had to learn. Through it all I remain grateful to make it back. Congrats on your continued sobriety. Keep living the miracle
That’s great advice. I am a meeting person, but I’ve not been to a beginners just because of availability. I have found a meeting I pop into every once and a while that has a lot of early recovery and I love it.
Hi Shawn, I had a similar experience this weekend, visiting the town I was at my worse. I see those memories as a gift to keep me on track, there is very little that I regret in life because I feel like everything had to happen in order for me to become the person I am today.
Weird right? We had a slight weather shift and a light snow, that may have triggered it too. The mind?!?

Yep! It’s wild!
