This week was draining. My work schedule was wonky and a good friend of mine relapsed. I was shocked and upset, then I started worrying about myself and wondering if that could happen to me or other people I care about. It absolutely could, it could be anyone, but that’s why I try to remain vigilant in my recovery to lessen the chances. I’m so grateful for another day sober (23 months!!) I’m also grateful for the sober community, my family, my friends and my bed.

Fear is one of those natural instincts that can be a good thing. It’s a survival instinct that is absolutely necessary. Seems to me that you used it properly, and it motivates you to continue working your daily program of recovery. Of course fear is one of those natural instincts that we can absolutely let get out of control and cripple us. However, that’s another topic for another day lol.
