This year has been challenging. I don’t subscribe to false positivity - if something is difficult, it’s difficult. I also don’t allow my mind wallow, I’ve wasted too much time doing this in the past. I’ve recently been thinking about the process of letting go. I enjoy philosophy and have been exploring this concept. From Buddhist teachings on impermanence, to the Stoic emphasis on accepting what we cannot control, and the Yoga practice of aparigraha - there’s a wealth of information. At its core, letting go is recognizing we cannot hold onto things forever.
Finding the courage to let go is a transformative moment. It’s an act of bravery to release what no longer serves us. It requires courage, strength, and resilience. It’s not linear.
For me, it’s being gentle with myself while I process different situations and emotions. I’m human. Accepting, forgiving, and releasing when it’s time; and keeping myself open to the future with healthy boundaries and a resilient mind.
Thanks for joining my Ted Talk. Time for coffee.
