I know that we all get out what we put in, come to sobriety through different paths, etc. But, having done some 12 step stuff and being alcohol free for just over a year, I wonder if this is helpful or dangerous for people who are struggling with their path? Social media is scary, and to add a dating app on top!?
I am not writing it off and hope it’s great for all, but the dating part worries me. Don’t 12 step programs discourage that?
We all need to love… and be loved!
Hey Peter! You are in the community app. Not the dating app. That’s a separate section to ensure this area is for support only.
The Loosid community was created to connect others who share the common bond of sobriety. The opposite of addiction is connection. Not having the ability to connect with others is one of the biggest stumbling blocks in recovery.
Have a great Friday!

Well said well spoken man👍🏼
The danger is a addict or alcoholic being stuck in their own head in the middle of the night and I’ve done my time in the rooms and the whole call me any hour we’ll sometimes they don’t answer on here I found I can reach a like minded person to help w that as far as the dating well that’s a choice no different from being in the rooms or living a daily life if ya want to date your gunna if your committed to your sobriety ya won’t
The world be scary.
