Would I be rejected from AA meetings as someone struggling with recovery from marijuana addiction?

Go to open meeting, where you can talk freely ,

Technically, you'd want to go to an NA rather than an AA but I don't see either rejecting you. Addiction is at the core of all such communities

I agree. I struggled deciding between the two.. ultimately I felt like my use is more along the lines of Alcoholism, not heavy drugs. I went to my first meeting today and was accepted! I was also invited to an NA group after opening up about my struggles

Our disease tells us we are unique or different because it wants us to stay isolated. Recovery is about pushing thru these negative thoughts that keep us sick, and finding connections. My DOC is weed as well. However, I know I can’t drink alcohol like a normal person. It always leads me back to weed and other bad behaviors. If you feel you can drink like a normal person, you may eventually have some issues in AA if you share this in meetings. All you need is a desire to stop drinking. If your intention is to practice control of your drinking, you may want to take another look at NA. Just my .02, which ain’t worth even that with inflation
