One of the lessons I've learned in recovery is the importance of rest. I grew up in a family that was always on the go - my parents taught us to get up early and "make the most of the day". I've learned that sometimes for me, making the most of my day means giving myself time to relax, rest my mind and body, and embrace the stillness and quiet time. I used to feel guilty for having "unproductive" days like today. I've since learned that sometimes enjoying a quiet, relaxed day is the most "productive" thing I can do for myself. Thankful recovery is teaching me what I need for my own self care
