Check out Jim Burwell, an AA OG who was and died an atheist in the program. He is the reason it says "a God of your understanding ".
Also, this book was written when men were still very superstitious, as well as accepting of racism, sexism etc. Things are changing. I hear the book is even changing to reflect this to become more inclusive.
So, woo woo religious stuff aside, there are practical ideas in the book. Those I accept. The other, to me, is as a relic in a museum.
Vomiting God stuff doesn't necessarily recovery. Form some complete thoughts, at least tie it together.
