Three years sober today. I can’t help but reflect on how different my life is now. I definitely don’t miss that panicked feeling in the mornings of trying to quickly recount the night before. Where’s my purse? Where’s my phone? Where’s my car? Where am I? And then the feeling of dread remembering and then the remorse and disappointment in myself that I did it again. Such self-hatred. It took a long time to not immediately panic in the mornings. I wake up ready to face the day and fresh and at peace. I never would have associated my anxiety with my alcohol use. Someone at work the other day described me as bubbly! Lol
My father died two days after my two year anniversary last year. If he was conscious I know he would have been proud of me. My biggest accomplishment ever! I was so proud that I could be present for my family and for him as a sober person. The old Laura would be selfishly crying into a bottle of wine and no help to anyone I’ve come a long way baby! Alcohol was a bad relationship for me and I’m glad we broke up! Thanks for letting me share
Very cool story. Huge congratulations on that new life.
Love this so much!! Happy birthday to you my friend!! You should be proud of that!! Congrats!!

! How amazing it is to be free! Thanks for your inspiring message of hope

Congratulations! I like the feeling at work that I can handle anything that's thrown at me because I've done it before and, the last time I was fighting a hangover.
Congratulations and great message!
Three years is a long time! Wishing you congratulations
Congrats on your great decision! Stay clean and healthy!
Thanks for sharing! I can relate to your “morning” stories. Such a sickening feeling. I never want to b there again. Three years is amazing! You’re an inspiration to me and others for sure. Congrats!
Your Father is way proud of you as we all are. It is a great accomplishment. Great days are still ahead. Best of luck, go get them
