Yes, this was my attitude very early on in my construction career. I loved being the boss. Having the sense of control, power and authority. Well, as my drinking career took off, my supervision career declined. I became more and more resentful, hated going to work, hated traffic and just plain hated how the big boss ran his company. Now I’m sober, running my own company and have a taste of what it’s like. I have much more respect for my ex boss. It’s funny how I had a hard time letting the boss be the boss. Today, I have a business partner and we are going to build a home together. I don’t have to be controlling. I can just do my part and go with the flow. I’m happy that I get to work. I’m grateful for what I have today. I get to be apart of this new construction project. Attitude of gratitude. Do we still try to run the show in sobriety? Do we let others do their job?
