Tips for quitting cigarettes?

So what I did was start with 3 cigarettes a day for the first week then 2 per day the second week then one a day per week. Then just taking a drag or two until I finally stoped.

Read Easy Way by Allen Carr, I quit smoking after 10 years of not being able to. Do not listen to anyone's advice, everyone's brain works very differently when it comes to nicotine addiction.
Also keep in mind that quitting nicotine is harder than quitting heroin so I promise you that some random dude's advice is not going to help you.

I stopped 12 years ago cold turkey I tried cutting back never worked it’s trying to get out of that physical habit as well as mental there are meds that can help (last option) the smoking habit in your hand ect is hard to kick but not impossible if the sick of cigarettes is there enough you will accomplish this!

Stay hydrated. Turn to water when you feel like you want a cigarette. It can at least postpone the craving.

I'm gonna try also. I'm kind of to the point, it's either quit and keep breathing or die :100:. I wanna live and breathe and take care of my lungs. I wish u the best and hope we both get it!

I started using a njoy daily vape and I haven't smoked a cigarette in about a month and a half.I try to only hit it when I crave nicotine, they have different milligrams so you can slowly cut back, I like it better than smelling like cigarettes and I've probably saved hundreds :joy: oh and I feel much better too compared to cigarettes

I actually thought about this today and imagined how I could apply how I quit smoking many years ago to how I could quit drinking. For me they are very different animals. If you are a social drinker, I may be able to help.

I desperately needed to stop smoking. My Heath points were near zero. All I did was smoke my doc and more and more cigarettes. I have COPD. That didn't matter, my addict man continued.
When I made the decision to get clean again, I started to realize the damage that was happening in my body. I found the Vape store and did both for a spell, but very few cigarettes.
One day I got sick of the smell and stopped cigs all together. I feel much better, I can breathe. It's not the best solution, but for me it beat the alternative.

I quit cigarettes cold turkey in 1999, but chewed tobacco for 40 years until quitting that months ago. I started with patches and gum, but now maintain via a mix of lozenges and nicotine pouches like Zyn. I buy Zyn cans in the lightest 3g form, and lozenges at just 2. Sure, it costs more, but it makes it easier to manage and not over-do it (since my ultimate goal is 0). Now when I get urges (usually with coffee, or during a strenuous stretch of work), I can decide whether I need just a 2 mg bump, or maybe a 5 with a combo lozenge-pouch. This also breaks up the acidic feeling of lozenges only ~ plus Zyns come in a ton of flavors. Good luck!

Pray to your higher power and ask him to remove the taste out of your mouth and the craving that's how I quit and I been clean from them for a month now
