Tips on staying sober following a break up???
Meetings. Get a foundation together before starting another relationship. Get to know you better. Hope you can make it.
Don't beat yourself up. We can't change what has happened and what was said. All we can do it focus on what we can control and that's the moment. Remind yourself that everyone makes mistakes and life is journey not a destination. Just focus on going to be sober and loving yourself again. I know this pain all to well and still suffer from time to time with it. It's only been 6 months but I still feel like it just happened. But I can't beat myself up because that will only make it worse and hold me back from healing. Cry, binge eat, find something positive to do, hang with positive friends and family, vent and get it out. Don't hold anything back because that's part of the healing. Reach out to other women so they can lend their advice. Men sometimes are insensitive to these matters and don't give the best advise. I was raised by women and still don't know everything.
Sound advice.
There are more fish in the sea. Know a relationship doesn't determine your worth.
Don’t drink. Go to meetings.
Use aaallll the support you can and DO NOT go back to them! This is what I wish I told myself so many times in the past. Be kind and gentle with yourself…do whatever makes you feel good for now as long as you won’t regret it
Turn it over to your higher power.
Just know that drinking won’t solve anything, and you’ll hate yourself tomorrow if you cave today
Pray for your ex, pray for their happiness pray for their prosperity and that they find true love. I find that god gives us what we ask for others. So when I find myself receiving the most abundance and joy and love it’s usually after asking him to bless others first
Keep a solid routine!!! The more free time you have, the more time you have to overthink. I have to fill my day with stuff to keep my mind off my ex, but I promise it gets easier. Take it day by day. I’m sorry love
if you need to talk I’m here and sounds like I can relate
He broke up with me almost 2 months ago because of my addiction, been sober since. But just do things that keep your mind busy. Meditation is amazing, I do it a few times a day and it’s healing too. Good luck!
That is soooo amazing that you got or stayed sober after your break up. I have heard similar stories and as much as I’m sure it’s hard to accept that’s what it took, you finally woke up! It could always be worse
I just hope you and anyone in your shoes continues to do it for THEMSELVES!! The lines can easily get blurred but when you know you are truly doing it for yourself, you will know! I didn’t experience this with a significant other but with family & friends. I was trying so hard to “get better” for them. It actually almost made it worse.. Eventually I woke up one day and said I need, I want, and I deserve a better life for MYSELF! A lot of my friends and family have not talked to me in a while which hurts but I have finally come to respect wherever they may have been that made them decide to distance themselves and I finally decided I am worth more than I have been allowing myself to be
. I am not out of the woods yet but my mindset has changed in an unbelievable way that I pray stays and gets better every day. I hope the same for everyone here!
Take some time for you.
Go to meetings everyday .for a year.
