Today false pride

Most of us eventually ride that pink cloud. However, there is a saying of "Fake it until you make it." I still find myself taking a ride on the pink cloud from time to time lol.

False pride is the message in todays daily reading. For the month, which is the 7th step ~ humility. So I am aware of trying not to have self pride as it too can bring me down as someone with this crippling disease.
I am so grateful to be reminded every day. A daily reprieve

Oh ok.... yeah it's good to be proud of yourself and build your self esteem. However, like you mentioned "Pride" in general is a character defect in recovery. Learning to accept humility and being humble takes the place of pride in recovery.
I heard a great quote years ago I try to remind myself of when I start feeling too proud of myself and need to remain more humble.
“Pride is that feeling you get right before you learn a lesson.”
Every time I’ve felt a bit too proud of my sobriety, I seem to learn a new lesson that humbles me.
