Today has been a hell of a day. It's been

Today has been a hell of a day. It's been absolutely wonderful. I went on my daily walk and broke my record. I found that I've been moving too fast. You have to pace yourself, almost go uncomfortably slow sometimes, to get where your going. Sounds familiar.

I got permission to roll around my hospital floor unattended in my wheelchair. ONE OF THE NURSES FOUND A SET OF HEADPHONES FOR ME!! I was able to jam out and cruise to get a little exercise. I was so happy that dinner was in my room and I ignored to feel free for a moment. I went over half a mile. Geeze lol

At the same time, I'm incredibly emotional. During the dressing change for my leg I actually looked at the everything else besides my wound and I noticed things that scared me. I have two rods very long rods in my leg. One goes all the way from my knee to my ankle. The other one isn't much shorter. My leg looks DEFORMED. You can see and feel the rods. It looks like bones are in the wrong places, it's just the newly added metal my body. I'll never roof another house in my life. I'll never be able to jog. I'm a VERY active person and I won't be able to do half the things I really enjoy doing. I have a leg. I have life. I am very thankful for that
