Today has been exceptionally hard. I feel lonely and sad. I’m 28 days sober and this has to be one of the worst. I just want to self isolate

28 days is amazing! I’m sure you’ve had both moments of extreme gratitude, as well as moments like you feel now. Remember, these feelings will pass! Be grateful you recognize these feelings today and have a choice today. I see you’re an AA guy. Keep saying the serenity prayer over and over again. Today would be a great day to get to a meeting as well. Whatever it takes brother! Let’s get thru this rough patch

Great job! Man, it was super hard to get to 28 days , it gets easier everyday, I agree, get to some meetings. When I quit initially FINALLY and had the right sponsor, I would go to 3-4 meetings a day. I had to survive. you do too

Congrats on 28 days! had a few rough days last week and can relate to the desire to isolate when I'm feeling down. I've found what helps me overcome my depression is actually being around people or at least calling a friend. I hope today is a better day for ya! And what a great feeling it is to be able to navigate the hard times sober - be proud of yourself for that!

Congratulations on 28 days. What an amazing accomplishment. Ohh I know the feeling and I have over 9 months almost 10 but just do some Journaling or call a friend/family member who's sober and if u don't have that then hit a meeting or zoom meeting and or get back into whatever religion you follow if you follow one. People is what saved me please don't isolate unless it's a healthy amount and your being productive during it!!! Stay blessed

Hi Andrew.
I’m here for you my friend. I get it. And, we do the same job for a living.

Just speaking for myself I was in and out of AA for a while so this time around I have done the opposite of everything I did before. My experience is if I want to self isolate I better get to a clubhouse & be around people. I hope u feeling better bro. The first 2 weeks of my sobriety I was in a real dark place & canrelate .

Hey man killer job on the 28 !!!... I remember days like that .. I'd try to get into whatever game was on :baseball::basketball::football:... or read I remember I read Helter Skelter and The Westies ... anything to pass some time.. you're doing great just wanted to remind u of that

You have gone through some of the hardest days already. You are going to have hard days, but as time goes by, the good days should start outnumbering the hard days. Start changing up your routine, get involved in something you are interested in. Exercise, try to eat healthy. Get some sun and fresh air!

It never gets so bad that a drink or a drug can’t make it worse. I’ve been in that dark place and felt like I’d never get out. It’s not like that today. I credit daily meetings and a great sponsor for the happiness and contentment I experience these days. Hang in there, it gets better if you do what you need to do.

Loneliness gets hard, but one thing I won’t do is let it push me back. You are doing awesome by reaching out, you got this and I’m here if you need a shoulder or advice.
