Today I achieved 18 months clean. By working the steps, connecting with a higher power, making living amends, working on my character, being of service, going to meetings, and reaching out to other people in the program and developing a strong social support of clean friends- my life has changed so much for the better. A set of principles written so simply anyone can follow them has changed me inside and out. I understand that recovery is a lifetime process, and never want to think "I got this" or "I know it all" or "I'm better than because I have this much time". In order to live a happy and serene life, I accept I have the privilege of working this beautiful program for the rest of my life. To keep learning, growing, and progressing, and remaining humble and helpful. Thank you to my higher power for my life. Thank you to my predecessors of both programs for creating this formula to be free from active addiction and find a new way of life. Thank you to those who gave freely what was freely given to them. I have so much love in my heart.:heart::heart:

Great share Kim! Congratulations on you recovery. I like your program. I’m on the same path and trying to follow those who have had success and our enjoying a quality recovery. It’s not just about quitting drinking, it’s about a spiritual change so that we enjoy life so that we don’t need/want to escape.

Way to go Kim!! I often say “I got this” are the 3 deadliest words for anyone in addiction.
