Today I am free

Free of stress. Free of worry. Free of dependency. Free of the demons that I once allowed to hold me down. I am free of the people that were only there to benefit themselves. I am proud of myself because I use to think I couldn't stay clean. I never wanted to. Over time I began to change my stinking thinking and I began to live life on life's terms. The best thing I ever did was learn to put myself first. Not in a selfish way but in an I need to love myself way. Today I am free of the guilt. I am free from the old version of who I use to be. The addicted version of a man that no longer lives to get high. A man that now embraces his journey of staying sober.

Nicely written! I can truely relate to every word.
Used to think I was different, broken and abandoned, without hope. Narcotics anonymous changed everything! Addicts helping addicts... What a concept. Thanks for sharing. I too feel a sense of freedom today.
