Today I am grateful for conversations with new people each day. After a year and a half of an isolating, abusive, codependent addiction filled relationship where I almost lost my life I am finding light in others each day and that gives me strength and encouragement. I’m grateful for conversations here, at meetings, and in actually being out in public where there are “other people”. Feel free to reach out to connect. We can support each other on our journeys
.
AA literature talks about us being like survivors of a shipwreck. I agree, I was adrift in chaos and destructive living. I didn’t know any other way to live and I had no choice.
I am very great-full for my sobriety today. I have a choice today, I didn’t before. I choose sobriety and I have a life worth living today.
Welcome Aimee! I absolutely love your energy! Attitude of gratitude! The hope you have in your gratitude is healing! Not giving up on people is a huge growth most of us don’t see for a long time. I’m glad you’re here! I’m glad you’re sober!
What other program(s) are you working? I’m in AA and attend refuge recovery once in awhile.
Just AA and staying involved in my church for now
That’s perfect! I too found church to be very beneficial in my recovery.
Keep up the good work my friend
