Today I finished my amends letters, so many emotions being felt.
The suggestion is wait a year until you make any big decisions. You know she is “toxic” yet you continue to see her… my question is why? Why put yourself in any place that could lead to a relapse? I mean we are human and crave physical intimacy but I would caution you on getting involved with someone who is not fully on board and understands your sobriety is the priority. Ultimately you need to follow your gut and do what feels right to you. Good luck man.
Tha k you tim, I'm understanding that my old way of thinking is getting in the way of my usefulness to others. I realized this earlier that I feel love and care for this person but it feels toxic. Like my new way of thinking knows it's bad but that desire to see old behaviors is there. Thanks Tim
Be very careful my brother. You are just beginning to be aware of your emotions. Relationships are very intense, and will most definitely bring up all kinds of feelings. I know for me, my will and my desires got me F’d up. My ego craved attention and validation. When I got it, I was feeling high as a kite. When I didn’t have it, I felt empty and lonely. Ultimately, you have a choice my man. Just be sure to have lots of support and a strong program if you decide to get involved
